What it is

Competitive systems fail in predictable ways: ladder farming, pay-to-win dominance, smurfing, or reward structures that burn out casual players while not satisfying hardcore ones. Good competitive design handles all of this upfront, with MMR logic that scales across player pools, seasonal resets that maintain motivation without erasing progress, and reward pacing that keeps every tier of player engaged. Experience spans PvP shooters, fantasy sports platforms, fitness competition loops, and Web3 token economies.

Our approach

I design the ladder and its incentives together, so the rewards never pull players toward exploiting the system. We tune MMR for the real player pool, shape seasonal resets to keep motivation high, and pace rewards so every skill tier has a reason to keep climbing.
